Zürich says “It’s more fun in the Philippines!”

The Philippines’ new tourism slogan It’s more fun in the Philippines was presented at the “Around the Globe 2012” networking event held in Zürich on 26 March 2012.

The famous annual roadshow was organized by the renowned luxury hotel representation Lobster Experience, established in 2007 by Astrid Oberhummer, who has had more than twenty years of experience in the luxury hotel industry before establishing her present company.

The event, which was attended by over 100 tour operators, travel journalists and professional sales people from the luxury hotel industry, presented more than 20 hotels and resorts from across the globe, and two tourism boards - the Philippines and Dubai.

The Philippine Embassy in Berne led by Ambassador Leslie J. Baja attended the event in support of the Department of Tourism which was represented by Mr. Daks Fernandez.  Attendees flocked the DOT stand and gamely requested for the brightly colored bags with the new tourism logo.

The week-long roadshow took the participating hotel groups and tourism boards to six German-speaking cities of Munich, Hanover, Cologne and Hamburg in Germany, Zurich in Switzerland, and Vienna in Austria.
Switzerland is the fourth biggest source of European tourists to the Philippines.  A number of resorts in the country are partly owned by Swiss nationals.  The Swiss hotel chain Mövenpick has established itself in the former Cebu Hilton in Mactan Island and is planning further expansion in the country.
