The Philippine Embassy in Berne reported that Ambassador Leslie J. Baja met with the Filipino-Swiss community on 18 September 2011 in Lausanne in celebration of the 2nd Marian Congress organized by the Philippine Catholic Mission in the Swiss Romande area.  Over 300 guests from the cantons of Lausanne, Geneva, and Fribourg were in attendance. 

In his remarks, Ambassador Baja highlighted the Filipinos’ qualities and traits that are known to the Swiss, namely, industrious, hard-working, respectful, and God-fearing.  He also emphasized and  encouraged the Filipinos to avail of the forthcoming Overseas Absentee Voting registration that will commence on 31 October 2011.
