Philippine National Day in Liechtenstein
The Philippine Embassy in Berne, Switzerland, co-hosted a
reception with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Culture of
Liechtenstein on 16 June 2010 in Vaduz, the capital of the
Principality of Liechtenstein.
The event, held at Hofkellerei, a
hall in the center of the capital of Vaduz and surrounded by the
royal vineyards of the Prince of Liechtenstein was one of the series of
activities organized by the Embassy in celebration of the 112th
Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence.
Liechtenstein is within the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in
Switzerland.
Dr. Aurelia Frick, Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Justice and Culture of Liechtenstein and Philippine Ambassador to
Switzerland Ma. Theresa Lazaro greeted more than a hundred Swiss,
Liechtenstein officials, diplomats who are based in Berne and
accredited to Liechtenstein and other distinguished guests who attended
the occasion. In her remarks, Dr. Frick conveyed the pleasure of
the Liechtenstein government for the Embassy’s efforts to enhance
relations between the two states and in bringing Philippine culture
closer to the people of Liechtenstein.

Lazaro stated that the reception aims to build a bridge between
the peoples of the Philippines and the Liechtenstein, to
celebrate Philippine Independence Day and to celebrate the proclamation
of the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines, President
–elect Benigno Aquino III. .
The reception offered guests a
cultural glimpse of the Philippines which included
indigenous dance and music as well as a feast on Filipino dishes and
flavors prepared by chefs from Marco Polo Hotel in Cebu.
