Ambassador Lazaro Invited as Panel Guest at the
World Wildlife Fund's Kyoto-Apero Symposium in Zurich

Ambassador
Maria Theresa P. Lazaro was invited to speak before 200 guests at the
World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Kyoto-Apero symposium at the WWF
Headquarters in Zurich on the subject of the recently concluded
Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change. The occasion also
celebrated the 5th year anniversary of the Kyoto Protocol agreement
when it entered into force on 16 February 2005.
The highlights of the symposium included discussions on the Kyoto
Protocol agreement and exchange of views on the future of global
climate politics.
Also present as podium guests were Ambassadors to Switzerland of their
respective countries namely: Donald S. Beyer Jr. of USA, Luciano
Joublanc of Mexico, and Dr. Axel Berg of Germany. Dr. Hans-Peter
Fricker, CEO of WWF Switzerland acted as moderator.
Ambassador Lazaro said that the Philippines remains committed in its
policies and directives to address global climate changes under the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
