for the victims of the recent calamity in the Philippines

Ambassador Baja & the Filipino Community welcome the new chaplain of the Philippine Catholic Mission

On 2 September 2012, a welcome mass was held in Zurich officiated by, Fr. Antonio P. Enerio, SVD, as a start of his work as the new chaplain of the Philippine Catholic Mission.  The mass was attended by Ambassador Leslie Baja and staff of the Philippine Embassy, various Filipino communities in Switzerland and some members of the religious groups.

During his speech towards the end of the mass, Ambassador Leslie Baja called on the Philippine Catholic Mission in Switzerland for unity and to work together in promoting the catholic faith.

“I thank you all for coming today and showing your support to the Philippine Chaplaincy as an institution which the Filipino community in Switzerland  can rally behind and work together, for it is only through unity and concerted efforts can we truly achieve progress and gain recognition as a nation,” said Ambassador Baja.

Ambassador Baja appealed to the Filipinos to set aside their differences and work towards a common good that is upholding the Filipino values, especially Christian values for which Filipinos are known for.

The mass was followed by an apero during which Fr. Tony Enerio and the Filipino community handed over the collections at the mass amounting to CHF 1,190.80 and USD 20.00, as donation to the victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines.
