Pricewaterhouse Coopers Switzerland brings exhibit of Filipino artist to Berne

Pricewaterhouse Coopers International Ltd (PwC) Switzerland brings to the City of Berne the exhibit of multi-talented Filipino artist Hilarius Dauag. Entitled “New Life” the exhibit showcases Dauag’s experiences when he performs in public as a musician, as captured in his paintings.

In his opening remarks during the vernissage held on 04 October, Ambassador Leslie Baja expressed his appreciation to PwC for hosting and supporting the exhibit.
“We are sincerely thankful to Pricewaterhouse Coopers for bringing to Berne the works of Hilarius Dauag. Filipino artists like him serve as a cultural bridge between the Philippines and Switzerland and promotes better understanding between our peoples through arts,” said Ambassador Baja.
The exhibit, which is housed at the PwC Exhibition Hall in Berne, will run from 04 October 2012 to 18 January 2013.

Hilarius Dauag, who is also an established musician and composer, was born in Ilagan, Isabela in northern Philippines. He studied jazz and ethnic music at the University of the Philippines’ Conservatory of Music. He is also a master balafon player, having studied for many years directly under the balafon masters of Burkina Faso. His music is strongly rooted in his indigenous Cordillera heritage Ibanag. END
