Since it was also the first day of overseas voting, the Embassy took advantage of the opportunity to give a short briefing on overseas voting.  The occasion provided discussion for the attendees to clarify the procedure on overseas voting, including the instructions from the COMELEC on how to properly fill in their ballots and how to properly seal the ballot envelopes.
The briefing ended with a short message from Ambassador Leslie Baja encouraging the attendees to exercise their right of suffrage and participate in the political process in the Philippines through overseas absentee voting.  He also appealed to them to inform their friends and other registered Filipino overseas voters to cast their votes this election.
