AMBASSADOR MARIA THERESA P. LAZARO PRESENTS HER LETTER OF CREDENTIALS TO HIS SERENE HIGHNESS HEREDITARY PRINCE ALOIS OF LIECHTENSTEIN

His Serene Highness Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein received the Letter of Credentials of H.E. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro as the new Philippine Ambassador to the Principality of Liechtenstein at ceremonies held at the Vaduz Castle in the Principality of Liechtenstein. Prior to the formal presentation of credentials to the Prince, Ambassador Lazaro met with Liechtenstein’s Foreign Minister Dr. Aurelia Frick and Director of the Office for Foreign Affairs Roland Marxer.
Ambassador Lazaro is the fourth Ambassador to present credentials since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1995.
During the discussions with the His Serene Highness Prince Alois, there was interest on the part of Liechtenstein for its industrial companies on Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) in the Philippines. The Principality has also been assisting the Philippines in providing legal assistance in the recovery of the ill gotten Marcos assets which are still in the country’s banks and foundations.
Liechtenstein is a land locked country which borders Switzerland and Austria. The Principality has a total of 76 kilometers of borders, 41.1 km of which are with Switzerland and 34.9 km of which are of with Austria. Liechtenstein is a constitutional hereditary monarchy. The Reigning Prince is Prince Hans-Adam II. He is the Head of State and represents the country. He appointed his son Prince Alois as his representative and entrusted him with the exercise of full sovereign rights vested in the Reigning Prince by the Constitution.
