PHILIPPINE MEMBERS TO THE STUDY TOUR ON SWISS FEDERALISM 30
October 2008
A six-member Filipino delegation from the public, media,
and academe sectors, participated in the “Study Tour on Swiss
Federalism” held from 26 October to 1 November 2008 in Fribourg,
Switzerland. The tour is part of a three-year cooperation program
between the Center for Local and Regional Governance (CLRG) of U.P.
Diliman and the Institute of Federalism at the University of Fribourg
under the sponsorship of the Swiss Agency for Development and
Cooperation.
This
year’s study tour focused on constitution making and revision and
territorial reorganization. The group members also visited
federal, cantonal and municipal government offices, academic and
non-government organizations in Basel, Fribourg, Neuchatel, Zurich and
Berne to provide them with an extensive view of the institutions and
mechanisms on Swiss Federalism.
