30 October 2008

A six-member Filipino delegation from the public, media, and academe sectors, participated in the “Study Tour on Swiss Federalism” held from 26 October to 1 November 2008 in Fribourg, Switzerland.  The tour is part of a three-year cooperation program between the Center for Local and Regional Governance (CLRG) of U.P. Diliman and the Institute of Federalism at the University of Fribourg under the sponsorship of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

This year’s study tour focused on constitution making and revision and territorial reorganization.  The group members also visited federal, cantonal and municipal government offices, academic and non-government organizations in Basel, Fribourg, Neuchatel, Zurich and Berne to provide them with an extensive view of the institutions and mechanisms on Swiss Federalism.
