Berne PE Meets with Nestle Executives at its Central Headquarters in Vevey
6 April 2009-Philippine Ambassador to Switzerland Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, accompanied by First Secretary and Consul Margarita S. Ibayan, met with Nestlé Executive Vice President Mr. Frits Van Dijk in a meeting held at the Nestle Headquarters in Vevey. Also present at the meeting was Mr. Arshad Chaudhry, Nestlé Vice President, responsible for the Philippines and other parts of Asia.
During the meeting, Nestle and the Embassy discussed the growth of Nestle Philippines such as a new factory being built in Pulilan, a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) which has become the global hub for Nestle situated in Meycauayan, Bulacan and future plans for expansion. There were also discussions on partnering with the Department of Agriculture on an expanded coffee bean farming to supply the growing need for coffee beans for Nestlé’s products.
Nestle has been in the Philippine for more than 100 years old and has been a steady partner of the Philippines in various aspects of development.
